Schecter Omen-6 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black)

This review is from: Schecter Omen-6 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black)This instrument really sounds and looks amazing. When I saw the price, I was very surprized, expecting a $450 tag - it was actually $300. After playing the guitar on an amp with all possible effects on it, I was able to prove to myself that it can produce the sounds for any type of music - from hard rock to fusion to vintage rock'n'roll. It is not only a heavy metal guitar, although it can handle the genre with total ease. The guitar's powerful output make it a perfect axe for fusion. The guitar is contoured like the Fender Stratocaster, but this is where the similarities end:a) the high-quality Schecter twin humbuckers produce that thick Gibson soundb) the high-gloss black body has a carved arch top, and the neck is angled back, just as on a Les Paul.c) the strings go through the body for increased sustain and cool looke) the neck is bolted 24-fret, giving more elbow room for playing higher upd) the headstock is smaller, more convenient for tighter areas, and compensating for the longer neck, so that a regular gigbag will fit just finef) simple electronics - only one tone control and one volume control are provided, with a 3-way PU switchg) the body is thicker than a Strat, add to that the arched top - pretty thick, yet not quite as heavy as a Les Paul.i) the construction and hardware are super-solid, with no plastic pickguard, or large cavities of a Strat. It is built in Indonesia and set up in the US, meaning that the quality control is up to the US standards.Overall impression: the Stratocaster's unmatched egronomics + Les Paul's tone + super-sleek modern look make this guitar a real joy to play and look at. It compares positively with similar price range models from Ibanez, Cort or Washburn, in my opinion, which I have personally tried....

This review is from: Schecter Omen-6 Electric Guitar (Gloss Black)I've had this guitar since I was 16. I'm nearly 21 and this guitar is still going strong. I haven't had too many problems with it. Just some minor fret wear because of how much play it.The sound is pretty amazing for a 300 guitar... and it can easily compare to guitars that cost more.( I would know because I have played Ibanez',Epiphones)The body is made of basswood so it gives you clean, beautiful, warm sounds.Or with distortion you can get some nice heavy tones. with no muddyness. Great for hard rock or metal. You seriously can not go wrong with schecter. They know their stuff and give people great deals on quality guitars. The tuners on this guitar are nice. The pickups are great with distortion or clean...just buy it if you are thinking of getting one. Great guitar. Love the heavy crunch for metal!...
