I cannot comment on the quality of the instrument in terms of its sound, as I am not knowledgeable in that area. However, I can say that although it is a little heavy for him (the guitar is recommended for kids who are a bit older), he LOVES it. It is the real deal. The amplifier is small and not too loud, which is something I appreciate! My one complaint is that the strap it comes with is very cheaply made, and it is not strong enough to hold the weight of the guitar. It tore the first day, and I had to buy a new strap....
