This review is from: AXL Mayhem Wavepoint Electric Guitar, BlackI've been shopping for one of these wacky-looking wavepoints for a few years.I happened upon an unbeatable price and pulled the trigger.When I got it, the frets were pretty sharp, and needed my special touch (just filing and polishing them up a little).Also, the bridge had a couple loose and rattly saddles, so that took a bit more work to get the intonation up and balance that with the buzzy rattling saddles.Eventually, I went with an old SG trick - stringing over the top of the tailpiece.Now it howls with some 12s on it, and no more buzz.EMG designed passive pickups are ok, but I generally use alot of crushing metal pedal tweaks and loud amps, so they really don't have to sound that great.This is a pretty durable, light weight electric, with tons of attitude.If you don't mind wrenching on your stuff, this is a cool guitar, but novices, or players with no setup experience or nearby shops should avoid this thing.I got mine in black, until they come up with something darker....
