My guitars range from 100 to 1,100 dollars and this one stacks up fairly well. I'm partial to mahogany bodied guitars with rosewood fingerboards. I'm not real sure what the body is made of (you can go to the Jackson web site and even they won't tell you what the body wood is). It does have the appearance of mahogany and for this price, I can pretend that it is even if it isn't. I also like a mix of single coil and humbucker pickups and the pickups on this guitar and very functional. I know it has a bargain basement price, but it is an excellent player and I'm glad I took the chance!...
