Electric Guitar: November 2010

This review is from: Washburn Mighty Idol Series WMIDLXFBB Electric GuitarWhen I tore open the box I was thrilled at how nice this Washburn looked.It was all bad after that.When I tried to plug it in to my amp, the out-put jack got pushed all the way inside the guitar. NOT good. I was able to remove the back cover and secure the jack so that it was now functional. While I had the rear cavity open I was able to have a look at the pots, wiring etc. One wire had actually been joined, mid wire, with a dab of solder then poorly wrapped with low quality electical tape. The wiring itself was very thin and the pots and switches were of very poor quality.When I finally plugged it in and got some sound,it was then that I discoverd that the volume switches were wired wrong. THis guitar has two volume and two tone knobs. Only one of the volume switches actually worked and it affected both pick-ups. That is NOT how this configuration was meant to operate.I got right on the phone and my lap-top andarranged to ship this piece of crap back to China. What a disappointment!!!!!!...
